What is social computing?
On its simplest level, social computing is the use of computers and digital media to facilitate social interaction--from the smallest one-to-one interactions to worldwide movements. Sometimes referred to as "social media," social computing encompasses a wide range of tools, ranging from simple email and chat systems to much more elaborate social networking and collaboration tools.
